Two people escaped injury Monday morning in Morris Township, Huntingdon County when a deer ran into the path of an oncoming vehicle.  State Police say 43-year-old Paulette Hardy of Petersburg and a 3-year-old male passenger were travelling north on Route 453 in a Honda CR-V when the deer ran onto the roadway.  The driver and passenger were wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision.

A former resident of Gwynn Oak, Maryland was arrested last week after a report of a stolen vehicle in Pennsylvania.  A 2013 Honda Civic was reported stolen from the 400 block of Orange Street in Selinsgrove on November 28th.  The vehicle was located the following day by police in Baltimore County, Maryland.  They arrested the driver, Jeffrey Yates, who was a resident of Selinsgrove at the time of the incident.  Yates was charged with receiving stolen property in Baltimore County, and with theft and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle in Snyder County.


A Centre County rehabilitation facility will unveil its new name and brand next month.  Beginning January 1st, HealthSouth Nittany Valley Rehabilitation Hospital will be known as Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Nittany Valley.  A celebration event will be held for the community on Thursday, January 3rd from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the hospital’s lobby, located at 550 West College Avenue in Pleasant Gap. State Police at Newport will conduct child safety seat inspections next week.  The inspections will be Wednesday (December 12th) from 12:00 noon to 3:00 pm at the Newport barracks at 155 Red Hill Road.
