Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital has been announced as a winner of the QUEST® Award for High-Value Healthcare by Premier Inc., a leading health care improvement company.  The award was for providing outstanding patient care. It was presented at Premier’s annual Conference and Exhibition in Nashville, Tennessee.  Geisinger-Lewistown is one of only six hospitals nationwide to receive this QUEST Award.  To earn the award, Geisinger-Lewistown met or exceeded thresholds in four priority areas including prevention and treatment for leading causes of mortality, effective care and coordination, affordability, and patient safety. QUEST participants prevented more than 198,000 deaths and reduced health care spending by more than $17 billion.


Charges were filed after a domestic dispute Wednesday in Juniata County.  According to State Police, the incident took place on North 3rd Street in Mifflintown.  A physical altercation between a 27-year-old female and a 33-year-old male escalated when the woman pulled a knife.  The unidentified man sustained a laceration on his left thumb.  Assault charges were filed through District Court.


A Champion 4500 portable generator was stolen last weekend at Port Royal Speedway.  State Police say the generator was removed from the bed of a pick-up truck between 9:00 and 11:00 pm Saturday.  Anyone with information should contact State Police at 717-320-1010.
