State Police at Newport are continuing an investigation into a fatal crash last week in Perry County.  The operator of a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, 52-year-old Barry Troutman of Newport, was injured after colliding with a vehicle driven by 18-year-old Kaylee Budde.  The crash occurred last Tuesday on Middle Ridge Road in Juniata Township.  Troutman was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.  He died of his injuries the following day at Hershey Medical Center.

Authorities in Huntingdon County say a man tried to lure a young girl into his auto late last week.  The incident took place Thursday at about 7:45 pm along South 10th Street in Huntingdon.  An 11-year-old girl and her sister were riding bikes when they were approached by a man in a dark gray four-door sedan.  The suspect told the girls he was supposed to take them home at their mother’s request.  The man gave an incorrect “safe word,” then left the scene.  The suspect is described as a young white male who was driving a dark gray vehicle, possibly a Chevy Malibu.  Anyone with information should contact State Police at Huntingdon at 814-627-3161.

The deadline for older adults and Pennsylvania residents with disabilities to apply for rebates on rent and property taxes paid in 2018 has been extended from June 30th to December 31st.  Each year the Department of Revenue evaluates the program to determine if funds are available to extend the deadline.  As of June 1st, the department had received more than 432,000 (432,411) rebate applications.  Distribution of rebates starts July 1st, and eligible Pennsylvanians are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.  Applications typically take 6-8 weeks to process.
