Republican State Representative Fred Keller will represent Pennsylvania’s 12th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives.  Keller defeated Democrat opponent Marc Friedenberg with nearly 68-percent of the vote in yesterday’s special election.  Keller will fill the vacancy following the resignation of former Representative Tom Marino (R) in January.

 

Republicans chose Megan McCarthy King and Christylee Peck for State Superior Court.  Amanda Green-Hawkins and Beth Tarasi won on the Democrat side.

 

A five-year-old boy was transported to Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital for treatment of minor injuries following a two-vehicle mishap early Monday morning in Oliver Township, Mifflin County.  According to State Police, 51-year-old Chalmer Beward of Lewistown was the operator of a Ford Escort that was backing out of a private driveway onto Kansas Road just before 4:00 am.  Beward’s vehicle backed into the path of a Chevy Silverado driven by 31-year-old Luke Yoder of Belleville.  Neither driver sustained any injuries.

 

Fine Wine & Good Spirits at CrestView Plaza in Perry County will reopen for business today (Wednesday, May 22nd).  The store, located on Fickes Lane in Newport will resume its normal hours – Monday and Tuesday from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm, and Wednesday through Saturday from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm. The store closed in April after sustaining flood damage.
