Hi, I’m Tom Laub…host of “The Morning Groove” on Big Lewie! I grew up in Lewistown, rooting for my teams (Notre Dame, Phillies, Flyers, Eagles & Packers). Music (the Beatles, Elvis, Buddy Holly) has always been a part of the picture from little league games at Rec Park through the LAHS years and beyond.
I can still hear the Hollies’ “Carrie Anne” at the Burnham pool in the summer of 1967, Don McLean’s “American Pie” on the bus to half-day sessions in Reedsville during the Penn Highlands days, and the Eagles’ “Hotel California” as graduation at Mitchell Field loomed.
It’s been quite a ride. Join me weekdays from 6 am to 10 am as we relive the musical journey.
This is the show that comes to you and meets you exactly where you’re at. Whether you’re driving home with the kids from soccer practice, on your device or computer, at home at the dinner table, or out by your outdoor fireplace sipping on some vino….wherever you are and whatever you’re doing, we are the soundtrack for your nights!
I thank you for having me into your homes, cars, and lives for radio the way it was meant to be….FUN!
Lewis was born and raised in Western Pa. (Beaver Falls) and grew up dreaming of being on the radio. In his 33 years in the business his career has taken him from Pittsburgh to Youngstown, Ohio, Florida, 17 years in Philly and finally here to Big Lewie. Besides being on the radio Lewis has also done numerous theater productions, was the PA announcer for the New York Mets in spring training and also the Treasure Coast Tropics minor league basketball team while in Florida. Always looking to give back to the community, Lewis has been heavily involved in many charities including Special Olympics where he was on the New Jersey State Committee for the Law Enforcement Torch Run. Lewis is an avid sports fan (Notre Dame, Steelers, Penguins and Phillies) who loves to cook, golf and travel.
